Dismissed – Two States, Two Police Departments, One Client’s Charges Dismissed

Our client was drinking with a family member when an argument broke out.

At that point, our client decided to leave. However, the relative called the police. So the police began to chase our client and they ultimately crossed a state line.

Since this was going out of their jurisdiction, the police contacted the neighboring state police who stopped our client. Our client was then charged with DWI.

This is a situation in which we would recommend anyone to consult with a DWI attorney. Thankfully, our client reached out to us and we were able to come up with a strategy for his case.

Before the case went to trial, our attorney spoke with the District Attorney and the arresting officer. Our attorney convinced them that since the officer never actually saw our client operating the vehicle on a North Carolina road, the elements of a DWI could not be proven. The case was Voluntarily Dismissed.

Best of all? Since our attorney secured the dismissal before the trial started, our client never had to go to court.
